He introduced himself as Mister Bach Jangles. Humming a few ditties in four parts, he explained &#8220;I drinks a bit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Inspired, the Professor broke off a drain pipe, twisted in a peculiar way that brought to Mr. Bach&#8217;s eyes a look of wonder and not a little fear. &#8220;Relax, old man, the tuba hasn&#8217;t even been invented yet. Until now.&#8221; The old man was heard to remark under his vaporous breath: &#8220;son, that ain&#8217;t no cello&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>But the REAL story is:\u00a0 PB was publicly accused of creating dangerous music before a crowd of a thousand college students. No jail sentence was imposed. Instead, he was conferred the honor of an empty envelope. Stanley Clarke got one too. Quinnipiac Jazz Festival, 1971.\u00a0 This is true.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Whence the name &#8220;Professor Beautiful&#8221;?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h1>Why <font size=\"-1\">would anyone call himself <\/font>Professor Beautiful??<\/h1>\nTop Ten reasons why: \n<ol>\n  <li>To make me more humble.<\/li>\n  <li>To make me less humble.<\/li>\n  <li>You have to ask??<\/li>\n  <li> The Beatles had a pathetic name too.
